Louis J. Barbich is the senior shareholder of the firm. With over 30 years of experience in the accounting profession, Mr. Barbich provides the broad based foundation of the Firm.
His specific areas of expertise are:
Income and estate tax consulting for clients in widely diversified industries with
an emphasis in the agriculture industry; and real estate sales, development, and
real estate investments.
Financial and management consulting on issues of corporate governance, organizational structure, family successorship planning, and purchases, sales and mergers of businesses.
Managing trusts for over 20 years. Currently active trustee for over 20 trusts.
Most trusts involve multiple generations primarily, for family farms. Trust assets under management range from $100,000 to $15,000,000. Farm land in trusts range from small acreages to 50,000 acres. Extensive lease negotiations for farm land.
Mr. Barbich graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Fresno State University, and an MBA from the Anderson School of Business, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
He currently serves on the Annual Farmers Tax & Accounting Conference committee and the Annual Central Coast Wine Industry Conference committee sponsored by the California Education Foundation of the California Society of CPA's.
He was one of the initial organizers and has been the Chairman of the Board of CAMICO over 20 years, since its inception. It is a professional liability insurance company which insures over 8,000 CPA and 70,000 professionals throughout the United States. CAMICO is the second largest CPA professional liability insurance company in the US.
Mr. Barbich is a member of the Board of Directors of San Joaquin Bank (A Public Company), chair of its Audit Committee as well as its Compensation, Technology and Loan Review Committees.
He is a past president of the 35,000 member California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He received the prestigious "Distinguished Service Award," the California Society of Certified Public Accountant’s highest award for service to the CPA profession. He is a past Board Member and a member of the governing council of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
